Able Haus

Able Haus is a small-lot infill housing proposal in Los Angeles, California that pairs inclusive employment with ownership-based housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Anchored by Bitty & Beau’s Coffee at the ground floor, the project creates a visible, community-facing model that integrates work, housing, and daily life.

Designed as a prototype rather than an institution, the project emphasizes dignity, autonomy, and identity. Resident co-created murals, mobility-focused infrastructure, and accessible design strategies work together to create an environment that is both supportive and independent.
